TVR Tuscan Heavy Duty Waterproof Car Covers
The TVR Tuscan was first released in 1967, followed by a re-introduction in 1999. The classic model was the second TVR to be produced under the leadership of Martin Lilly, and was a front engine, rear wheel drive sports car. Production ended in 1971, and was succeeded by the TVR Vixen. The first Tuscan models were available with only a Ford V8 engine option. This was a 4.7 litre engine providing 271 brake horse power and a top speed of 155 miles per hour. This engine was similar to the one in Ford mustangs of the time, meaning that the car had superb performance and impressive handling. 1970 saw the release of a V6 version, powered by a 3 litre Ford Essex V6. This engine was also seen in the Ford Capri and the Ford Zodiac of the time. The V6 still provided excellent performance, with a top speed of 125 miles per hour from the 136 bhp. There were 73 TVR Tuscan V8s produced, with 101 Tuscan V6s.
1999 saw the release of the updated TVR Tuscan. This new sports car offered stunning elegance combined with truly powerful engineering. The new TVR Tuscan gave 5 different engine options for the buyer to choose from. These were variants of the 4.0 litre Speed Six TVR engine, with one being a 3.6 version. The range in power was from 350 bhp to 400 bhp in the Tuscan S. by maintaining a low weight of approximately 1100kg, all of these cars gave a superb performance and acceleration.
The body of the post 1999 Tuscan has changed slightly over the cars, along with a few minor chassis upgrades. The most recent TVR Tuscan was introduced as a Mk 2. This included aesthetic changes to the lights, dashboard and spoilers. With this edition, TVR also introduced a new full soft top version, alongside the traditional Targa roof version.
