In 2002 TVR released the Tamora to the world. With similar features to all TVR models,
a two seats and a two door coupe, the Tamora fitted into the TVR catalogue well. The Tamora was released to fill the gap craeted by the discontinuation of the the
Chimaera and the Griffith models. The Tamora also attracted many new customers to TVR who had previously been scared off by the extravagant and modern designs of some models. Compared to previous models, the TVR Tamora was simple and elegant, with beautiful flowing lines and uncomplicated design. The lights were noted for having a very discrete design, especially compared to the usual chrome clad designs of pervious TVRs. The Tamora maintained some design elements of the Griffith and the Chimaera, such as the popular roof options. This meant that the car could be fitted with a hard top that was removable; just like a convertible. This gave all the bonuses such as security and protection from the British weather, but the excitement of a convertible sports car!
The Tamora is
powered by the TVR Speed Six, Straight-6 engine with a capacity of 3.6 litre. this well designed
powerplant provides a remarkable 350 brake horse power thanks the low weight of the body and chassis combination; just 1060 kg. The Tamora is easily capable of top speeds of over 170 mph, which is combined with an acceleration of 0-60 mph in only
4.2 seconds. The Tamora was later used in the development of the
T350 coupe, which uses a similar body and chassis design. There are also several design innovations inside the car, meaning a such better driving experience. Along with leather trimmed bucket style racing seats, there is a multifunction digital
display that is intuitive and provides information in just a glance.
