In 2002 TVR released the Tamora. Like many TVRs before it, this was a two seat, two door coupe. TVR had found that as the Chimaera and the Griffith has finsihed production, there was a gap in teh models offered by TVR. Following this, the Tamora was released and certainly did it's job of filling in this gap. The Tamora boasts simple and elegant designs that have been noticed by many potential customers. As the design is more simple and less extravegant than
previous TVR models, more people have looked towards TVR as a contentor when they are selecting a high end sports car. During the design stages, several elements of the Girffth and the Chimaera were used, such as the removeable or Targa roof, that gave both the benefits of a hard top car, such as security and protection from the British elements, along with the ease and convenience of removing the roof. Other design feautres, such as hte front and rear lights, were contempory but discrete in design, maintaining the simply yet stylish looks of the car.
Following with recent radition, the Tamora is
powered by the TVR Speed Six, Straight-6 engine. In this car, a 3.6 litre
version gives an impressive 350 brake horse power. The lightweight design adds to the performance of the car, and like most TVRs it weighs under 1100 kg. The Tamora is capable of
a top speed of over 170 mph, with an acceleration of 0-60 mph in only
4.2 seconds. The Tamora was used to design the next TVR car to be produced; the T350 coupe. This uses a similar body and chassis design. The interior of the Tamora is also well designed.
With leather trimmed bucket style racing seats, a multifunction digital
display and intuitive instrument layout, the TVR Tamora is remarkably easy to drive.
