Porsche Cayman Waterproof Half Cover
The Porsche Cayman is the coupe sports car derived from the highly successful Porsche Boxster, and was first released in 2006. Like the Boxster, it is a 2 seat, mid-engine sports car but with a hardtop, unlike the Boxster which has a soft-top. Unlike the Boxster, the Cayman boasts a large hatchback boot giving a large storage area. There are several variants that are based on the Boxster, with the Cayman S running from a 3.2 litre flat-six boxer engine, as in the Boxster. A variety of gearboxes are also available as options.
The Cayman S Porsche Design Edition 1 was released to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Porsche Design. Completely styled in black and with a complimentary briefcase and accessories, only 777 were produced for the 2008 market. In addition to the other variants, Porsche have developed the Cayman S Sport for the 2009 markets with 303 horse power. The Cayman is available in two colours, Bright Orange and Signal Green in respect of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, along with the traditional sports colours of Guards Red, Speed Yellow, Carrera White, Black and Arctic Silver. 700 are to be produced with 100 dedicated to the US and Canadian markets.
The second generation of Cayman sports cars are soon to be available, with an extra 20 horse power, giving it a slight advantage over its brother the Porsche Boxster. The new PDK 7 speed gearbox will also be introduced in this model.
