Porsche Boxster Lightweight Breathable Car Cover
Designed following the success of the Porsche 986, the Boxster has continued to take advantage of the technological advancements that make all Porsche sports cars desirable by the motoring world. With the innovative water cooling system developed to suit the Boxster’s mid-engined design it is proudly the first car to combine these 2 design features.
The mid-engine design of the Porsche Boxster gives the car a remarkable low centre of gravity and with superb weight distribute the car handles beautifully. The Boxster was developed by Porsche purely as a cabriolet rather than as a coupe that is then redesigned to remove the solid roof. This is the first car to be produced by Porsche in this way and has hopefully set the gold standard for future convertible sports cars.
The name ‘Boxster’ comes from the ‘boxer’ engine, meaning that it is horizontally opposed and the term ‘roadster’ that reflects the car’s convertible two-seater design. When first introduced in 1996 the Boxster was powered by a 2.5 litre 6-cylinder engine, which was soon replaced with a 3.2 litre in 2000 for the Boxster S. Further development in 2005 was inspired by the Porsche Carrera GT with the development of the 987.
The limited edition of this fantastic model marked the 50th anniversary of Porsche with the production of the 550 Spyder. Only 1953 of these luxury cars were produced. Using the unique Porsche GT Silver Metallic finish complimented by either a cocoa leather or natural grey interior.
