Porsche Boxster Heavy duty Waterproof Car Cover
The Porsche Boxster was developed initially from the earlier 986 model vehicle and was the only car produced by the company designed only as a roadster from the outset that was not simply a redesigned hard top. The Porsche Boxster also represents Porsche's first use of a horizontally opposed engine (also known as a boxer engine, hence the name of the model) and it has been popular with enthusiasts and fans around the world since its inception. The Boxster was first introduced by Porsche back in 1996 and was driven by a 2.5 litre 6 cylinder engine that was later updated to a far more powerful 3.2 litre in 2000 on the newer Porsche Boxster S version. Carrera GT fans of the world should also be aware that the Boxster is directly responsible for the creation of the Carerra GT that was known as the 987 during production.
The Porsche Boxster engine is fully water cooled, a relatively new method of engine cooling that reduces noise and also increases performance to levels that make the car comparable to vastly more expensive vehicles available from other manufacturers. The engine sits in the middle of the Boxster as well making it the first water cooled non rear engined vehicle; the benefits of which incluyde a low centre of gravity enabling far more precise cornering and control and perfect weight distribution enabling perfect handling accuracy, something noted by everyone who reviews the Porsche Boxster.
The Porsche Boxster saw its own limited edition verison producted marking the 5th anniversary of the vehicle. It was dubbed the "Porsche 550 Spyder" and just 1953 vehicles were made all of which were finished in a stunning shade of GT Silver Metallic and complete with a choice of high quality coca leather or a natural grey interior. A number of options were available on this Boxster including unpainted 18" Carerra wheels and the atypical centre console plate marking the production number of the limited edition vehicle.
