Porsche 997 Waterproof Half Cover
The Porsche 997, the latest incarnation of the Porsche 911, began production in 2004. Since production it has topped charts as the most successful variant of the Porsche 911 to date. Porsche produced 2 coupe versions of the 997 model, a Carrera and Carrera S, along with additional Turbo and GT3 versions by late 2006. The GT2, produced in 2007, boasts 520 horse power with a top speed of 204 mph, offering exceptional power to Porsche fans around the world. In addition, there are 2 Targa top variants of the 997, the Targa 4 and Targa 4S.
Seen as an evolution of the 996, the 997 bares much less resemblance to its predecessors, breaking the somewhat typical development of the 911 model. It has not lost the iconic styling that have made Porsche 911s so popular whoever and is a beautiful example of the fine Italian engineering that we come to expect.
February 2006 saw the introduction of the Turbo model, with both exterior styling and engine differences. In addition to changing the layout of the front of the car, Porsche have developed an engine for the 997 based on the 964 3.6 litre engine. With the ability to develop up to 480 horse power this model can travel at speeds of 193 mph with ease.
The 997 is also available as the Turbo Cabriolet, which following its introduction in 2007 is one of the fastest convertible sports cars available with very little difference in performance from the 997 Turbo Coupe; an incredible feat.
