Porsche 997 Lightweight Breathable Car Cover
As an evolution of the Porsche 996, the 997 has proven to be the most successful model of the 911 to date. By introducing new styles and revolutionary engineering Porsche have created a truly amazing luxury sports car that offers so much more than many of its competitors. Without losing the iconic styling of the Porsche 911 the 997 has updated the range and is a stunning example to the fine design that is expected of Porsche.
The 997 first hit the automotive scene in 2004 and has become the most popular variant of the 911 with collectors and sports car fans from around the world. Keeping with tradition, Porsche have induced the name Carrera in several models such as the two coupe variants of the 997. The Carrera and Carrera S were introduced initially and then followed by the Turbo and GT3 versions by late 2006. The much anticipated GT2 was introduced in 2007 and demonstrated a top speed of 204 ph that was reached thanks to the tremendous 520 break horse power.
The popular Porsche Targa roofing system was available on two Porsche 997 models, the Targa 4 and the Targa 4S. This innovative system of ‘popping’ on and off the roof has fans all over the world and is still seen as a viable alternative to having to choose from a soft-top and a traditional hard-top. The Turbo model of the Porsche 997 introduced a range of differences in the front design of the car. A Turbo Cabriolet model set records as one of the fastest convertible sports cars available. There is also very little difference in the speeds of the 997 Turbo Cabriolet and the 997 Turbo coupe; something unique to the model as it is traditional for the convertible version of a car to increase in weight due to additional support within the car. Porsche demonstrated their talents in engineering with the 997 which will go on to produce even more great luxury sports cars in the future.
