Mazda MX-5 Waterproof Half Covers

The Mazda MX-5 is by far the most famous and widely recognised car produced by the Mazda company in modern terms, and the MX-5 is also seen by many as the car that made small, sporty convertibles cool and accessible again in a market that was saturated with expensive vehicles out of the reach of the average car buyer. There are many features that made the Mazda MX-5 unique when it was first released; as an affordable two seated roadster it offered a viable alternative to the more costly cars from other companies and in some cases actually outpeformed them. The vehicle has attained the status of a modern classic already with various owners clubs and race meets existing just for the MX-5. Mazda have updated the vehicle three times in its life and there are three different marks of Mazda MX-5 in existence. In North America the MX-5 is known as the Mazda Miata, whilst in Japan it is referred to as the Roadster, and the first iteration of the car actually sold over four hundred thousand units since it was released in 1989. The first version of the Mazda MX-5 was powered by a straight 4 1.6 litre engine that was soon replaced with a bigger 1.8 litre version. The engine power was quickly increased again when the second generation of Mazda MX-5 was released, the 2.0 litre engine provided ample power and Mazda also made a number of styling and interior changes to this second iteration of the MX-5. The vehicle has gradually become heavier throughout its life, the original MX-5 weight just over one tonne however new technologies and engineering innovations have actually increased the weight as more features are added resulting in a similar increase in engine power. The Mazda MX-5 is a true modern classic; it was designed with those classic British roadster cars in mind like the Elan, Spitfire and Midget and it used these as its design inspiration. Mazda wanted to merge this classic design lineage with a modern vehicle that was as technologically up to date as possible in order to create what has been described as a "spiritual ancestor" to the roadsters of old. The front engine rear wheel drive setup of the MX-5 provides excellent handling and it is fast, responsive, and provides ample feedback to the driver through the steering wheel. As with most vehicles produced by Mazda the MX-5 features a whole host of features as standard and many more than can be chosen as optional extras when ordering the vehicle.
