Mazda MX-3 Waterproof Half Covers

mazdamx-31.jpgThe Mazda MX-3 was the first of the much loved MX series produced by Mazda and the MX-3 led the way for 2+2 seated hatchback vehicles in the early 1990's. The entire Mazda MX-3 was built around the popular EC platform and it's familiarity resulted in it being sold abroad under various names including the Precidia (Canada) and the Eunos (Australia). The Mazda MX-3 paved the way for a whole new generation of sporty vehicles and as such it is recognised as a collectors item that fetches high prices at auction due to its popularity both with regular motorists and those interested in modifying their cars. One of the unique features of the MX-3 is that Mazda have designed it to be very easily modifiable with everything including the entire engine being relatively simple to remove and replace.

At the time it was first released the Mazda MX-3 actually featured the lowest displacement V6 engine, this 1.8 litre powerplant was a hallmark for V6 engine design and has often been copied by other companies since its inception. This was not the only engine available on the Mazda MX-3, customers could choose a 1.5 standard engine if they were economically minded, or opt for the slightly larger 1.6 rather than the 1.8 V6. The Mazda MX-3 was notable for its exceptional performance, in many cases it outperformed not only other similarly priced cars but also much more expensive sports cars that for all intents and purposes look far better on paper.

This pioneering nature kept the Mazda MX-3 in the limelight for many years, and Mazda kept updating the vehicle as new technologies and innovations came along that could be utilised on the MX-3. One intriguing feature of the Mazda MX-3 was the suspension, a twin trapezoidal link bar held the rear suspension, this allowed much better road handling as the rear wheels could tilt in unison when cornering. Since it was designed this system has since been used in various other cars. 1993 saw the introduction of a special edition of the Mazda MX-3 marking the 25th year of production in Canada. Mazda USA also offered a unique special edition version of the MX-3 that was much more luxurious than its regular counterpart.
