Mazda Demio Lightweight Breathable Car Covers
The Mazda 2, 121, Metro, or even the Ford Festiva Mini Wagon are all international names for the popular 1990's car known as the Demio. It was designed from the outset as a small van type vehicle and was eventually released in 1996 and continues to be produced to this day. The Mazda Demio has undergone some major redesigns since it was first conceived, the most recent of which was a total redesign in 2007 that updated the vehicle with a whole host of new technologies and innovations. Initially however Mazda were not going to produce the Demio; it was designed at the request of Ford, however Mazda soon saw the potential in the idea and what we now know as the Demio was born.
The Demio shares a common design with the Ford Festiva, they are both built almost identically on the popular DW platform. The Mazda version that we know and love has had two prior updates before the 2007 one; in 2000 new aerodynamic stylings were introduced along with changes to the cabin air filtering system and other minor functions and again in 2002 when the vehicle was re-built from the ground up on the DY platform. The Mazda Demio has gone from strength to strength throughout its life, it is actually holder of the accolade "7th best selling vehicle" in the Japanese market and it has scored highly in many peer and critical reviews.
Eventually the Ford Festiva fell by the wayside when it was replaced by the Fiesta; this allowed the Demio to continue unhindered under the sole control and responsibility of Mazda. One of the main unique selling points of the Mazda Demio is that it comes with a tremendous amount as standard and there are a variety of optional extras available, much more than you get for similar money from alike vehicles produced by other companies. Mazda have also produced a unique hybrid version of the Demio that uses an electric motor to offer more traction than the standard model can produce. The most modern Mazda Demio offers a choice of 1.3 and 1.5 litre engines, the perfect blend of economy and power.
