Lotus Eclat Lightweight Breathable Car Covers

 During 1974 Lotus began production of the Eclat, and continued until 1982. Production was broken down into 2 different series of car, with Series 1 Eclat followed by the Series 2. The Series 1 Lotus Eclat was powered by a 1973 cc Lotus 907 Slant Four engine. The engine was first developed by Vauxhall and featured a range of technological innovations, such as an overhead camshaft and a rubber toothed belt to drivel the camshaft from the crankshaft. This engine produced an exceptional 160 bhp and when combined with the lightness of the lotus Eclat an impressive sports car was born.
The Eclat was originally developed from a basic Elite design, but after several modifications it became a more spacious overall car. One major feature of the Eclat was the fastback design of the rear of the car. This meant that a continuous line ran from the roof down to the base of the car. Not only was this a good design in regards to elegant style but it also reduced the drag coefficient of the car, increasing its aerodynamic performance. In addition, the design of the Lotus Eclat meant that the boot space increased massively, making this a much more practical car.
The Series 2 Eclat had few modifications, most notably a larger engine at 2.2 litres. This modified Lotus 907 engine became known as the Lotus 912 and was used in subsequent cars by Lotus, such as the Esprit. Both the Series 1 and Series 2 had the option of either a five speed manual gearbox or an automatic transmission.
