Ford Galaxy Waterproof Half Cover
The Ford Galaxy has become something of a family favourite and is so popular that it has been redesigned twice in its life. It is roomy, comfortable, features a tremendous amount of space for passengers and luggage and surprisingly economical for its size. Originally the Galaxy was designed as a joint venture with Ford teaming up with Volkswagen and SEAT allowing all three companies to catch up with market leaders Renault who were selling their Espace in vast quantities. The result was the Galaxy (or Sharan or Alhambra depending on what company was marketing it). The majority of the engineering was taken from VW however Ford did supply a pair of engines from their line-up to power various models of Ford Galaxy.
The vehicle sold so well that in 2000 Ford (along with their partners) decided that it was time to update the Galaxy in order to seperate it from their competitors vehicles in a market that was becoming full of this kind of car. In order to do this the Ford Galaxy was given a makeover of sorts with a new, restyled exterior featuring new graceful sweeping lines and a new interior that was completed to a much higher standard. The choice of engines for the new Ford Galaxy changed completely with a variety of new horsepower ratings and gearboxes becoming available for the customer to choose when purchasing.
The Ford Galaxy has gone on to become a modern classic, a new version was released in 2006 at the Geneva Motor Show at the same time as the Ford S-Max, and this new Galaxy has been designed from the ground up by Ford and no-one else. The new Galaxy is even larger in order to differentiate it from the S-Max and C-Max vehicles and various new technologies have been implemented in order to bring the design up to date. Speed and road handling remain competitive but interior space has grown hugely, and the new "kinetic design" that Ford favour has been applied to the Galaxy making it really stand out from the crowd. The new vehicle is available as an Edge, Zetec, Ghia or Titanium and a large choice of engines are available.
