Ford Focus Heavy Duty Waterproof Car Covers
The Ford Focus is a compact family car that currently leads the way in the Ford line-up of vehicles. The Focus was first introduced in 1998 in Europe and sold so well that Ford chose to launch it in 2000 in North America and in 2002 in Australia. The first generation of the Focus is actually so popular that it is still produced alongside the new second generation version of the vehicle in various markets across the globe. The second generation Ford Focus was first launched in 2005 and featured various aesthetic changes and also changes to the engineering of the vehicle. The car is a direct replacement for the Escort and in Australia, New Zealand and Japan it replaced the Laser. In the short time since it was released the Ford Focus is considered the 39th best selling nameplate across the world and over five million have been sold.
The first generation of Ford Focus took its name from a Ghia concept vehicle that was demonstrated way back in 1991 at the Geneva Motor Show. Many of the features utilised on the Focus had been previously demonstrated by Ford on other cars but when they were combined into one package they made something completely unique and new. The vehicle continued the New Edge styling and design aesthetic to the delight of many and a number of new engineering innovations were included such as fully independent multi-link rear suspension. When the first generation of the Ford Focus was released it received praise from reviewers who described it as the perfect fusion of driving agility and passenger comfort. In 2004 Ford unveiled the second version of the Focus at the Paris Motor Show. With the runaway success of the first generation vehicle under their belts Ford simply improved upon the existing design and based it around the C1 platform. The suspension from the first generation vehicle proved so popular and reliable that it has been carried over virtually intact to the new vehicle, however the stiffer body results in even better handling with the new Ford Focus. The new vehicle is also bigger than the first generation with a wheelbase larger by one inch, and it is also six inches longer, half an inch taller and five inches wider. This has increased interior space vastly and various new technologies have been incorporated into the Ford Focus such as a solar reflecting windscreen, adaptive front lights, Bluetooth compatibility and climate control.
