The Ferrari 275 is an iconic design that has been hailed as one of the "Greatest Ferraris of all time" according to Motor Trend Classic. The Ferrari 275 is a unique grand tourer complete with a found mounted engine that was produced between the years of 1964 and 1968. Between 280 and 300 hp was available depending on which particular model of the Ferrari 275 a motorist purchased, and it represented a natural evolution of the 250 and the end of the line as far as this lineage would progress as the Daytona that replaced it was a remarkably different vehicle. The Ferrari 275 was the first vehicle to feature the new "transaxle" that mated the transmission and rear axle.

The standard entry level Ferrari 275 GTB was developed by Scaglietti and was much more of a pure performance oriented sports car than a grand tourer at first. Uniquely a number of Ferrari 275 GTB's were developed with aluminium bodies rather than steel ones. Ferrari also built 200 275 GTS Roadster models that featured a new style of body work. This version of the vehicle was more GT oriented with less of an emphasis on performance. Ferrari also evolved the design somewhat with the GTB/C version of the 275 that was entered into a number of different races. It featured a stiffer suspension and a hybrid steel and aluminium frame to save weight. The body panels were also much thinner and reinforced with fibreglass.

Ferrari launched the GTB/4 version of the 275 at the Paris Motor Show in 1966 and it was almost a completely new vehicle. The brand new bodywork set it apart from its predecessors and the redesigned Colombo V12 engine now boasted six carburettors and a reduced valve angle. The transaxle that had been so unique and new was also tweaked in such a way as to improve handling, noise and vibration remarkably. Various other tweaks and changes resulted in a much more drivable, reliable and better performing Ferrari 275. A spider version of the GTB/4 was available from just one US dealer and these are now incredibly rare and fetch high prices at auction. Just ten vehicles were built and this type of Ferrari 275 is now one of the most valuable and priceless Ferrari's that one can own.
