The Porsche Cayenne is totally unique and a real departure from convention for the company, it is genuinely like nothing you have ever seen before from a company with such a long lineage producing sports cars. This has a top speed of 155 mph thanks to its eight cylinder engine, whilst the 4.8 litre V8 that powers the Porsche Cayenne GT ensures that you can reach 60mph in under 6 seconds. Both the Cayenne Turbo and the Turbo S utilise a variety of modern innovations developed by Porsche to ensure that economy, performance and comfort are all carefully managed on behalf of the driver. The 6 speed automatic gearbox rounds off an excellent, luxurious package and a vehicle that has no direct rival.

The Porsche Cayenne has also been the subject of much research and development in recent years with the company developing a hybrid model that will hit the market before 2010 if everything proceeds according to plan. This unique version of the Porsche Cayenne can be used with the engine deactivated thanks to the electric vacuum pump and hydraulic steering pump. The 288 volt nickel hydride battery is situated under the boot floor and provides ample power no matter what conditions the Cayenne is put under. Porsche are confident that this new hybrid will offer far more power and performance than is currently seen in other hybrids.
