The Bentley Turbo R is a stunning vehicle from the Bentley stable and it is recognised and renowned by many, from industry insiders through to motoring enthusiasts the world over. The Turbo R is also credited by many as being the vehicle that inspired the company to forge ahead producing more modern vehicles with a slightly wider market appeal than what they had released previously. In effect the Bentley Turbo R helped usher in the era of modern car creation, its modern stylings and luxurious fixtures and fittings combine to produce a vehicle that is second to none.
 The Bentley Turbo R made use of the existing chassis from the Mulsanne car, and they took the engine for the vehicle from the Mulsanne as well. The engine itself was then taken apart piece by piece and carefully rebuilt, any components deemed unreliable were replaced with a higher quality one ensuring that the Turbo R was one of the most reliable Bentley vehicles in existence. The wide tires and alloys hint at the new audience that the Turbo R came to appeal to, with this vehicle Bentley produced a pioneering design that is second to none and played a pivotal role in defining the modern motor industry. When Motor Trend magazine published an article about the Bentley Turbo R they described it as "the first Bentley in decades
deserving of the famous name."
In true Bentley tradition the Turbo R is a large, heavy vehicle, however the engine and suspension have been tuned to make it handle and feel like a much lighter vehicle. It is quick to accelerate and handles around the corners like a far lighter car thanks to the addition of a Panhard rod that words to reduce cornering sway. Tuned dampers increase the performance further and although no official figures were ever published the power output is believed to stand at 300 bhp. The Bentley Turbo R took up its place between the Mulsanne and the Silver Spur in the companies line-up and to this day stands as a monument to fine engineering.
