Between the years of 1998 and 2009 the Bentley Arnage was one of the most prestigious and luxurious vehicles available to purchase. It was constructed at the companies main factory near Crewe and is unique in that it is actually the first new car to be designed solely by Bentley for eighteen years. The Bentley Arnage features a brand new engine marking it apart from other vehicles from the company, the traditional engine that the company use was deemed insufficient so a new design was comissioned from BMW. This monstrous 6.75 litre V8 featured twin turbos from motor industry stalwarts Cosworth and it provided the Bentley Arnage with an excess of power and torque.
 The Bentley Arnage proved to be very successful in meeting its design requirements, for such a large vehicle its speed and acceleration were impressive, so impressive that the Bentley Arnage actually held the accolade of being the most powerful and faster saloon car with four doors on the market for a time. You know you are purchasing a Bentley Arnage when you glance at the list of features that are provided as standard fittings; a voice activated sat nav system, climate control, unique front seats that not only massage but also can either heat you or cool you down, a stunning sound system and remote engine starting, all of these are present on the Bentley Arnage. Optional extras are such rarities as heated/chilling cup holders and automatic door closing assistance.
The vehicle proved to be so successful that in 2001 Bentley introduced the Arnage RL, a longer wheelbase version of the vehicle designed to be used as a luxury limousine. The RL was strictly a custom commodity; it featured a large variety of optional extras that could be customised by Bentley on behalf of the customer, something not available with the standard Arnage. Interestingly the Bentley Arnage is credited as being the vehicle that launched the company to a whole new generation of motorists. This is largely due to the new aesthetic approach taken with the car, and also the new engine that improved reliability greatly thanks to be almost completely re-built.
