The Bentley Arnage is a timeless classic that was developed in Crewe at the companies main manufacturing facility. The Bentley Arnage is a modern vehicle, it was first introduced in 1998 and continued in production until 2009, and it represented the first brand new vehicle designed by Bentley since 1980. The Arnage also marked a departure from tradition in the engine department; the ever present 6.75 litre V8 that was first designed in the 1950's was replaced by a brand new V8 from BMW featuring a unique twin turbo installation from Cosworth. Considering it is such a huge vehicle (over 5 m long, nearly 2.0 m wide and weighing more than 2.5 tonnes) for a time it was actually the most powerful and fastest four door saloon available for purchase.
To emphasise the luxurious nature of the Bentley Arnage the company has opted to include a tremendous amount of features as standard. These include things such as a sat nav complete with voice recognition, full climate control system, front seats that massage you as you drive and can be heated or chilled (the front pair of which are power adjusted), a wood and leather wrapped steering wheel, a unique premium sound system, remote engine starting, and even a DVD playback system for the rear seats to enjoy. It is easy to understand why the Bentley Arnage was seen as one of the finest and most luxurious vehicles on the road! Optional extras on the Bentley Arnage include heated and cooling cupholders, a power sunroof, heating and chilling rear seats and door closing assistance. In 2001 Bentley introduced the Arnage RL that featured a longer wheelbase and could serve as a limousine thanks to the much larger space in the rear of the vehicle.
The Arnage RL was available direct from Bentley as a custom model only and featured a whole host of options that could be customised for those making the purchase. The Arnage RL had the reputation of being the first Bentley that cured many of the modern problems experienced with engine reliability and performance. This is largely due to the fact that the 6.75 litre engine was completely rebuilt and many parts replaced, in fact half of the components were completely new including a new engine management system and new technology to meet new emissions standards. In 2002 Bentley released the Arnage T, the most powerful Bentley vehicle in existence. In 2005 the Arnage was restyled to modernise the line and bring it in line with the Continental GT in terms of aesthetics.
