Aston Martin Vantage Lightweight Breathable Car Covers

astonmartinvantage1.jpgThe Vantage name has been used by Aston Martin for many years to describe vehicles that belong to an existing version of car but to seperate the Vantage model from its peers, usually because it is a higher performance or "sportier" model of the same vehicle. Aston Martin utilise this title in a similar way to their use of Volante rather than convertible and the name has grown up to be as much a part of the Aston Martin story as the DB5 or the Mark III cars and Vantage will always be a word associated with the company. Of course there are always exceptions to the rule and Aston Martin have proved no different; in 1972 a car was marketed as just a Vantage, this was to seperate the straight 6 powered DBS from the V8 version.

In fact there is no doubt that the most famous Vantage edition in the history of Aston Martin is this variation of the V8, produced in 1977 it was described by many and popularly referenced as "Britain's First Supercar" due to the high top speed that could be attained and the excellent handling that the vehicle offered. Aston Martin also felt that in producing this new vehicle they had made so many changes that it deserted a new name, hence adopting the Vantage tag for a vehicle with no prefix or suffix. The company also produced some Vantage look-alikes for the US market that looked identical to the actual cars but offered no engine or performance upgrades.

Aston Martin also produced the world famous Virage Vantage, it is famous because when Aston Martin released the sportier upgrade based on the main vehicle it became so popular that they discontinued sales of the original standard Virage in order to concentrate on the Virage Vantage. Aston Martin and customers alike began to drop the Virage name until it evolved to simply became the Vantage V8, and to this day there are two Vantage versions available from Aston Martin, the V8 and V12. They are seen as more affordable versions for the Vanquish and DBS class vehicles and have proved to be exceptionally popular for Aston Martin.
