Aston Martin DBS Waterproof Half Covers The unique Aston Martin DBS is a grand tourer and was originally built in 1967 until 1972, and was recently re-released in 2007. Both versions of the Aston Martin DBS are closely related to the James Bond mythos that makes Aston Martin so unique; the old and new version of the DBS have featured in various Bond films throughout their lifetime. The original Aston Martin DBS was designed specifically to replace the famous and popular DB6, however the latter proved so popular that production actually continued for three years after the introduction of the DBS by Aston Martin. It was powered by a straight 6 282 bhp engine and proved popular with car enthusiasts the world over. One thing that separated the original Aston Martin DBS from the DB6 was its size, it was notably larger and actually featured four full seats. Aston Martin also introduce a vantage specification model that boosted engine output to 325 bhp. Aston Martin worked hard on styling the DBS and forged the way for designing a more modern vehicle that set itself apart from everything that had come before. The original Aston Martin DBS featured heavily in On Her Majesty's Secret Service while the newer version of the DBS helped re-launch a new Bond and re-invent the franchise in Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace. The new Aston Martin DBS is based on the DBR9 and replaces the Vanquish S as the leading model in the companies line-up. The new Aston Martin DBS is powered by the V12 engine from the DBR9 and it has been tuned to produce 510 bhp and a number of revised air intakes and inlet ports, some of which open automatically when needed. The new Aston Martin DBS featured heavily in the new Bond films and it can be separated from the DB9 by the fact that it sits lower to the road and is 40mm wider than its older sibling. Only 300 examples of the new DBS are being produced by Aston Martin.
