Aston Martin released their brand new DB5 in 1963 and it was well received immediately thanks to the tremendous improvements it offered over the DB4 that it was replacing. We also stock DB4 car covers. When the Aston Martin DB5 is mentioned one cannot help immediately think of James Bond, it is known by many simply as the "James Bond car" thanks to a starring appearance in Goldfinger in 1964 followed by Thunderball. Recently this same model of Aston Martin has made a re-appearance in the newer James Bond films such as Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies and Casino Royale, such is the emotion and nostalgia associated with the DB5. Because of this popularity our car covers are always popular sellers amongst DB5 owners.
 When it was released in '63 the Aston Martin DB5 was much loved thanks to its more efficient (and less prone to overheating) engine. The four litre monster was fitted with three SU carburettors that with the engine produced 282 bhp and propelled the vehicle to 141 mph. A new custom made five speed transmission helped with previous reliability issues and made the car more enjoyable to drive. One thing that made the Aston Martin DB5 more appealing to buyers was that it featured much more luxurious fittings as standard compared to the DB4, with fitted pile carpets, electric windows, reclining seating and a fire extinguisher all being fitted to the basic standard version. Aston Martin only produced one version size wise of the DB5, all had four seats and two doors and no versions with different wheel bases were introduced. This allows us to produce perfect fitting car covers with no equal.
The Aston Martin DB5 Vantage is one of the most recognised classic cars on the road. It was released in 1964 and whilst on 65 were produced they became an instant immediate collectors item selling for princely sums at auction. Aston Martin also produced a convertible DB5 in 1963, and we sell car covers for this version as well. They even developed a unique shooting brake version custom designed just for David Brown (and if he ever wanted one of our car covers we could provide it in short order!). It became so sought after that twelve more were modified from the standard vehicle by Harold Radford and sold immediately and are still sought after by collectors due to their rarity.
