As its name suggests the Aston Martin DB2/4 is the successor to the DB2 and it commenced production from 1953 and had a relatively long production run for the time with models still being produced until 1957. Aston Martin took the step of producing various versions of the DB2/4, something of a first for the company, and the 2+2 hatchback proved to be equally revolutionary for its time and also a very popular seller, as did the drophead coupe version of the Aston Martin DB2/4. Our car covers are compatible with all version of the DB2/4.
 Although the Aston Martin DB2/4 bears a remarkable similarity to the previous DB2 model there are a number of changes that the keen eye can spot, for instance the larger windscreen and changed restyled headlights and bumpers. Aston Martin also produced a number of Bertone body spider types of the DB2/4 that were revolutionary in terms of aesthetics for the time and are very sought after by collectors and enthusiasts as they were originally only available on commission. The DB2/4 was powered by a dual overhead cam straight six engine taken from the Vantage version of the DB2. Initially it produced 125 bhp but it was replaced by a larger 140 bhp engine in 1954 that increased the top speed of the Aston Martin DB2/4 to 120mph. These changes mean little to our car covers and they will fit no matter what engine is under the bonnet.
Aston Martin produced some custom versions of the DB2/4 for racing (and we can provide car covers for these as well); notably for the Monte Carlo Rally and the Mille Miglia. The DB2/4 appeared in Alfred Hitchcock's popular thriller The Birds, this proved popular in promoting and advertising the new vehicle. Sadly this exact vehicle used in the film was crashed by its owner recently and damaged beyond repair. Although the name implies something of an interim model this type of Aston Martin has been firmly entrenched in the minds of car lovers and motoring enthusiasts the world over.
